AI Usage Policy
Use of AI in Visual Content
I am not a professional artist, and I use AI tools to help maintain a consistent visual style and aesthetic throughout the campaign. AI is used to:
- Assist in generating and refining visual art that aligns with the chosen theme and tone
- Create animated or video enhancements based on existing images and artwork
AI is used as an aid to support cohesion and presentation, not to claim artistic mastery or replace human artists.
Use of AI in Worldbuilding Support
AI may be used to help:
- Brainstorm and flesh out ideas
- Generate names for characters, locations, and organizations
- Explore alternate concepts or possibilities during the planning phase
These uses are intended to support creativity and inspiration, not to dictate or automate the narrative.
Creative Boundaries
AI will not be used to:
- Write the story itself
- Create dialogue
- Define themes, emotional arcs, or narrative meaning
All storytelling, themes, character motivations, and dialogue come directly from my own ideas, values, and creative intent.
Human Artists & Collaboration
I am open to collaboration with real artists and creators. At this time, payment for commissioned artwork cannot be guaranteed. However:
- Any artist whose work is used will always be credited appropriately
- If an artist’s contribution is significant or exceptional, I am more than willing to discuss compensation where possible
Ethical Use of Art
I will never use artwork from an artist in any form of media without their explicit permission. Respect for creators, ownership, and consent is a core value of this project.
Transparency
This campaign aims to be open and honest about how AI is used. AI is a tool to assist presentation and development—not a substitute for creativity, heart, or human expression.

Player Conduct Policy
The Ashes Campaign is intended to be a collaborative storytelling experience built on trust, respect, and immersion in the world. All players are expected to follow the guidelines below to ensure the game remains enjoyable and safe for everyone at the table.
Character Creation & Setting Consistency
All player characters must fit within the tone, theme, and setting of the Ashes campaign world.
During character creation, players should expect to work closely with the Dungeon Master (DM) to establish:
- Character backstory
- Character motivations and personality
- Their role in the broader story moving forward
The DM may request adjustments to ensure characters integrate properly with the campaign narrative and setting. Characters that intentionally disrupt the tone or direction of the campaign may not be approved.
Sexual Content
This campaign will contain minimal references to sexuality.
Players are expected to ensure their character's actions and dialogue reflect this boundary.
The following rules apply:
- No references to rape, sexual assault, or coercive sexual situations.
- Explicit sexual content is not permitted.
- If a romantic or sexual situation arises within the story, it will be handled with a “fade to black” approach and minimal follow-up references.
The focus of the campaign is adventure, character development, and storytelling, not sexual content.

Hate Speech & Real-World Allegories
Real-world hate speech, discrimination, or offensive allegories are strictly prohibited.
Within the context of a fantasy world:
- Characters may express in-world prejudices between fantasy races or factions as part of the setting or narrative.
- However, these must never be used to reference or mirror real-world groups, cultures, or identities.
Any attempt to introduce real-world hate speech or offensive allegory into the game will not be tolerated.
Strike System & Enforcement
To maintain a respectful and safe table environment, the following three-strike system will be enforced:
First Strike
- The player will receive a warning from the DM and clarification of the policy.
Second Strike
- The player will receive a formal warning and may be asked to adjust their behaviour or character immediately.
Third Strike
- The player will be removed from the campaign permanently.
The DM’s judgement on policy violations is final.
Final Notes
The purpose of this policy is not to restrict creativity, but to ensure the Ashes campaign remains:
- Immersive
- Respectful
- Enjoyable for all players and viewers
By participating in the campaign, players acknowledge and agree to follow this policy.
